French musician Jean-Philippe Gross specializes in working with unstable sound systems. He has an exceptional ability to harness the unpredictable energy of chaotic electric circuits to exhilarating musical moments. In a way, his pieces are sculptures in space/time. Focusing on the psycho-physical auditory/sound experience of the listener, Gross meticulously builds moments of tension and unexpected breaks in the linear sequence, informed by an attentiveness to silence.
