Students from the Department of Photography in collaboration with Indie Gallery
The 12 members of Indie Gallery, a non-profit collective gallery for photography, worked in collaboration with second-year students from the Department of Photography on an outdoor project mounted in the streets of the Musrara neighborhood. Created especially for the festival, the project draws on the school’s photographic archive as part of a methodological undertaking aiming to assimilate archival display modes. The images are presented on light tables in sequences that are not necessarily committed to a single comprehensive narrative or to the depiction of a concrete history. Rather, they form fragmented, fictional sentences and can be viewed as isolated units or sequences.
The members of Indie Gallery, an artist-run art space in Tel Aviv, work predominantly in photography and video. The gallery promotes an ongoing discourse on the photographic medium, providing a platform for young and established artists alike. The members operate the gallery together and curate the shows, along with guest curators.
With gallery members: Orit Bertini Shavit, Aya Nitzan, Ilan Carmi, Davi Barell, Hila Vugman, Chen Cohen, Tal Nisim, Youval Hai, Naama Porat, Omri Shapira, Keren Zaltz, Tamar Nissim, and 2nd year students from the Department of Photography.
