He is a multidisciplinary artist: installation, video, and sound artist, curator and senior lecturer. He has performed in legendary venues such as the Kitchen, BC8, No-Se-No, and Dysenteria; Russian State Museum, St. Petersburg; Chelsea Art Museum, New York; Kunsthalle, Düsseldorf; Israel Museum, Jerusalem; and the Museum of Art at Duke University, North Carolina. He has participated in the Sao Paulo Biennale (1991), the Israeli booth at the Venice Biennale (2001); the Biennial of Buenos Aires (First Prize, 2002); and the 9th Biennale at Istanbul (2005). He has held performances in theaters and galleries in London, Berlin, San Francisco, Cardiff (Wales), Santiago de Compostela (Spain), New York, and Tel Aviv. Uri Katzenstein lives and works in Tel Aviv and teaches at the University of Haifa, Department of Art.
